Telangana’s Ashwath Ayyalasomayajula Dominates 3rd National FinSwimming Championship

Organized by the Underwater Sports Federation of India, this prestigious event saw Ashwath shine, winning multiple medals and the Individual Championship Trophy.

Pune: In a remarkable display of skill and determination, young Ashwath Ayyalasomayajula from Gachibowli Stadium, Sports Authority of Telangana, emerged as the star of the 3rd National FinSwimming Championship held from September 3rd to 5th, 2023, at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune.

Organized by the Underwater Sports Federation of India, this prestigious event saw Ashwath shine, winning multiple medals and the Individual Championship Trophy.

Ashwath Ayyalasomayajula, representing Telangana State, clinched an impressive haul of three Gold medals, two Silver medals, and the coveted Individual Championship Trophy at the championship. His exceptional performance left spectators in awe and showcased his immense potential in the world of fin swimming.

50m Bifin (Junior-E-Boys):

Additionally, Team Telangana, featuring Ashwath, secured a Silver medal in the 4x100m Bifin Relay. The relay team, which included Kashish Srivatsava Rao Adduri, Aneesh Reddi Sinka, Yadidya Rithwick Kasula, and Ashwath Ayyalasomayajula, displayed outstanding teamwork and sportsmanship.

The relay results were as follows:

1st: Bengal + Kerala (Joint Winner) – Time: 4:25.29

2nd: Telangana – Time: 4:33.81

3rd: Maharashtra – Time: 4:42.44

Remarkably, Ashwath Ayyalasomayajula is just 11 years old and studies in Class 7 at Jubilee Hills Public School. He trains at the Gachibowli Stadium, Sports Authority of Telangana State, under the guidance of his coach, Ayush Yadav.

Ashwath’s outstanding achievements at such a young age serve as an inspiration to aspiring fin swimmers and highlight the promising future of Indian sports. His dedication and talent are a testament to the bright prospects of fin swimming in India.
