Hyderabad: The price of tomato in Hyderabad has gone up to Rs 200 per kg and traders predict that it will go up to Rs 250 per kg next week.

Traders are importing tomatoes from Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra before the price hike. However, the intermittent rains in these states are making it difficult to transplant tomatoes.

Tomatoes are being imported from Punjab for Hyderabad and Telangana. Due to the increase in prices, people in Hyderabad are generally avoiding buying tomatoes.
