Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City Traffic Police, along with Kachiguda Police Station, have apprehended two accused persons for using a fake vehicle registration number plate by tampering the original number of a two-wheeler in Hyderabad. The case was registered on April 22, 2026, following credible information.

Fake Number Plate Case in Hyderabad: Accused Identified

The accused have been identified as:

  • A1: Shaik Abbu Baba, age 41 years, registered owner of vehicle TS08FB2768
  • A2: Shaik Rihaan, age 19 years, vehicle user

Both are residents of Navrang Guda, Ramanthapur, Hyderabad.

How the Fake Number Plate Tampering Was Done

During inspection, police found that:

  • The original number TS08FB2768 (Hero Glamour) was tampered
  • It was altered to TS08FE2768 (Honda Activa)
  • The change was made to mislead enforcement authorities and escape traffic challans

Due to this manipulation:

  • Multiple traffic violations were committed
  • Challans were wrongly issued to the genuine owner of TS08FE2768, identified as
    A. Lakshmi, resident of Kukatpally, Hyderabad

FIR Registered Under BNS and Motor Vehicles Act

A criminal case has been registered with full legal provisions:

  • FIR No.: 199/2026
  • Police Station: Kachiguda Police Station
  • Sections Applied:
    • Section 318(4), 319(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)
