TSSPDCL is working with TS-REDCO to Establish Electrical Charging Stations
According to the sources, authorities are working to establish a charging station at every 3km in the city and on every 25 km on highways.
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL) is working with the Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TS REDCO) to establish electrical charging stations available in the premises of power sub-stations.
According to the sources, authorities are working to establish a charging station at every 3km in the city and on every 25 km on highways. There are 431 sub-stations of 33/11 KV in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limit that include mainly suburbs and about 200 sub stations along major roads.
TS-REDCO is looking into the possibility of identifying the sub-stations for establishing charging stations at Kalyan Nagar, Gachi Bowli, Jubilee Hills, Nanakramguda, Cybercity, IIIT, Rajendranagar, Medchal, Habsiguda and also identifying at various substations within the Saroor Nagar circle.
The source added that TS-REDCO is moving forward with the goal of making a large number of electric charging stations available by 2023.
To set up charging stations by private companies will cost between Rs. 14 Lakhs to 20 lakhs, source revealed. The price for charging to the customers has not been decided yet by the TS-REDCO. Presently the TS REDCO charging only electric vehicles run by the government department.
There are two types of charging, slow charging (AC) and fast charging, (DC) stations. The officials said it would take 6 to 8 hours per vehicle at the slow charging stations for full charging and an hour and half would take for a vehicle on fast charging stations.
The source added that Discoms in Karnataka and Delhi are charging Rs. 4.50 per unit to be supplied to charging stations and the charging stations are charging Rs. 7.50 per unit to the vehicle owners. (Munsif News Bureau)
