Twist in Pravalika’s Suicide Case; DCP Clarifies Act Not Linked to Group 2 Exam

Hyderabad: DCP Venkateshwarlu from the Central Zone has clarified that Pravalika’s tragic suicide in a Chikkadpally hostel was a result of a failed relationship, unrelated to the Group-2 examinations. He explained, “Marri Pravalika (23), a resident of Warangal district, had recently moved to the Brindavan Girls Hostel in Ashok Nagar, where she was preparing for the Group-2 exams. She was involved with a person named Shivaram Rathore, a relationship known to her parents as well. However, the day before, Pravalika learned of Shivaram’s engagement to another person. Overwhelmed by sorrow, she took her own life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan.”

“We have obtained a suicide note, which has been sent for forensic analysis. Additionally, her mobile phone records reveal that she had her final conversation with Shivaram. It is confirmed that Pravalika’s act was driven by the anguish of betrayal. We’ve reviewed CCTV footage of Shivaram meeting her at a restaurant the day prior. Any action against Shivaram will be determined after a thorough investigation,” he stated.

The DCP emphasized that Pravalika’s passing was unrelated to the Group-2 exams’ postponement.

“This incident is being erroneously linked to another matter. Local students and student union leaders held a protest. Cases have been filed against those who participated in yesterday’s demonstration. Please refrain from spreading any unfounded rumors,” he cautioned.
