Inter-State Two-Wheeler Thief Arrested by RGIA Police, 4 Premium Motorcycles Worth Rs 8 Lakh Recovered

RGIA Police arrested alleged inter-state two-wheeler thief Vishwakarma Mohan Kumar and recovered four premium motorcycles worth Rs. 8 lakh linked to theft cases in Telangana, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.

The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) Police have apprehended an alleged inter-state habitual two-wheeler thief and recovered four premium motorcycles worth Rs. 8 lakh. Using advanced technical surveillance and intelligence-based policing, the police detected four separate theft cases registered across Telangana, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. The accused, identified as Vishwakarma Mohan Kumar @ Undekode Mohan, has been remanded to judicial custody.

According to police, the accused is a habitual inter-state two-wheeler offender.

Four Motorcycles Worth Rs 8 Lakh Recovered

During the operation, RGIA Police recovered and seized the following motorcycles:

    • Traced to: Raichur Police Station, Karnataka
  2. Pulsar Motorcycle
    • Registration Number: AP-40-HS-0916
    • Traced to: Kurnool Police Station, Andhra Pradesh
  3. Royal Enfield Hunter 350
    • Registration Number: TS-07-KC-3040
    • Traced to: RGIA Police Station, Cyberabad
  4. Royal Enfield Hunter 350
    • Registration Number: AP-40-HT-1276
    • Traced to: Adoni Police Station, Andhra Pradesh

Total Estimated Value: Rs. 8,00,000 (Eight Lakhs)

How the Accused Stole Premium Motorcycles

Police said the accused followed a unique modus operandi.

According to investigators, Mohan Kumar would casually enter automobile showrooms and bike servicing centres during lunch hours. Pretending to be a customer seeking vehicle servicing, he would survey the premises.

Taking advantage of reduced staff presence during lunch breaks, he allegedly drove away high-end motorcycles, mostly Royal Enfield bikes, that had already been serviced and were parked outside. The thefts were reportedly committed before anyone could notice or raise an alarm.

RGIA Police Form Special Team to Crack the Case

Following a recent motorcycle theft within airport police limits, the RGIA Police constituted a special investigation team using technical intelligence and surveillance tools.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of:

  • Sri B. Sanjeev, Station House Officer (SHO)
  • Sri Pavan Kumar, Detective Inspector (DI)

The special team included:

  • HC Srikanth
  • PC Javeed
  • PC Siddeswar

Using technical leads and investigative skills, the team tracked down the suspect and successfully apprehended him.

Accused Remanded to Judicial Custody

Police stated that four theft cases registered in different states were detected during the investigation.

After his apprehension, the accused was remanded to judicial custody. Further investigation into the cases is continuing.

Senior Officials Commend RGIA Police Team

The higher officials of the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate appreciated the efforts of the RGIA Police team.

They commended SHO Sri B. Sanjeev, DI Sri Pavan Kumar, and the entire crime team for their swift detection and professional execution in apprehending the alleged inter-state offender.
