Washington/Tehran: The United States has completed another round of military strikes against Iran, marking the eighth consecutive night of attacks, according to the US Central Command (CENTCOM). The US military said it targeted Iranian military facilities, including coastal surveillance, air defence, maritime capabilities, and missile and drone storage sites, while more than 50,000 US troops remain on high alert across the Middle East. Meanwhile, the Iranian Army announced that it launched two rounds of drone attacks on US bases in Kuwait in retaliation for what it called US aggression against Iran and its civilian infrastructure. The developments mark an ongoing military escalation.

CENTCOM Says US Conducted Eighth Consecutive Night of Strikes on Iran

According to US Central Command (CENTCOM), US forces successfully carried out another round of strikes against Iran.

In a post on social media platform X, CENTCOM said:

“During the eighth consecutive night of US strikes, CENTCOM forces successfully hit Iranian military coastal surveillance and air defence facilities, maritime capabilities, and missile and drone storage sites to continue degrading Iranian military capabilities.”

CENTCOM added that more than 50,000 US men and women in uniform are operating across the Middle East.

The command stated:

“More than 50,000 US men and women in uniform are operating across the Middle East. They remain highly vigilant, focused, lethal, and ready.”

US Says IRGC Was Targeted

CENTCOM said the US military also targeted Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

According to the command, the IRGC had “launched attacks against US service members in Jordan on July 17.”

Iranian Army Announces Drone Attacks on US Bases in Kuwait

Meanwhile, the Iranian Army announced on Sunday that it had carried out retaliatory strikes on US military bases in Kuwait.

In statements published on its official website, the army said the attacks were launched in response to what it described as US aggression against Iran and the country’s civilian infrastructure, including bridges.

According to the Iranian Army, its forces targeted:

  • Al-Adiri Camp
  • Ali Al Salem Air Base

The army said the attacks were carried out in two rounds of drone strikes.

Iran Says Darkhovin Nuclear Power Plant Construction Site Was Attacked

The Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran stated on its official website that a construction site at the Darkhovin nuclear power plant in Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran was struck by US projectiles on Sunday.

The organisation condemned the attack, calling it:

“A violation of international law.”

Previous US Strikes Also Targeted Iranian Military Facilities

CENTCOM also referred to the previous day’s operations, stating that on Saturday US forces targeted Iran’s:

  • Coastal surveillance facilities
  • Air defence facilities

It repeated that the objective of the operation was to continue degrading Iran’s military capabilities.

The command also reiterated that the US military targeted Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces, alleging they had launched attacks against US service members in Jordan on July 17.

According to CENTCOM, US military operations against Iran are continuing, while more than 50,000 US troops remain on alert across the Middle East.
