Hyderabad: Zain Nadella, son of Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella, died Monday morning. The 26-year-old young man had been born with cerebral palsy.
What is Cerebral palsy
Caused by damage that occurs to the immature, developing brain, most often before birth, Cerebral palsy is a group of disorders that affect movement and muscle tone or posture.
According to Mayo Clinic, Cerebral palsy is a lifelong disorder and people with cerebral palsy can have problems swallowing and commonly have eye muscle imbalance. Lifelong disorder may include epilepsy, blindness or deafness.
Symptoms
Signs and symptoms of cerebral palsy generally include problems with movement and coordination, speech and eating, development, and other problems. Damage to the brain can also cause other neurological problems
Causes
Cerebral palsy usually happens before a child is born, but it can occur at birth or in early infancy. Many factors can lead to problems with brain development, such as gene mutations, Maternal infections, Fetal stroke, Bleeding into the brain, Infant infections, Traumatic head injury, Lack of oxygen.
