Maruti Suzuki Delivers 108 e VITARA SUVs in Hyderabad, Marking EV Milestone

Hyderabad: Maruti Suzuki India Limited achieved a significant milestone in its electric vehicle (EV) journey by delivering 108 units of its first battery electric SUV, the Maruti Suzuki e VITARA, in a single day. The large-scale handover ceremony took place at the JRC Convention Centre, reflecting growing consumer confidence in India’s transition to clean mobility.
Addressing the event, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales), highlighted Hyderabad as a key market for the company’s EV ambitions. He noted that the city has the highest EV penetration in India at 14.5%, making it an ideal testing ground for scaling electric mobility solutions.
Banerjee emphasised that the company’s vision goes beyond manufacturing EVs to building a robust ecosystem. He pointed out that Hyderabad currently has a charging point every five kilometres, supported by 256 charging stations across Telangana, including 119 within the city. He added that this infrastructure forms the foundation for future expansion, with the company planning to introduce four more EV models by 2031.

Built on the new HEARTECT-e platform, the e VITARA is designed as an “Emotional Versatile Cruiser” and offers a driving range of up to 543 km. The SUV comes with two battery options — 49 kWh and 61 kWh — and is backed by an 8-year or 1,60,000 km battery warranty. It has also secured a 5-star safety rating under Bharat NCAP, strengthening its appeal among Indian consumers.
The e VITARA, Maruti Suzuki’s first battery electric vehicle, is manufactured exclusively at the company’s Hansalpur facility in Gujarat. Since its flag-off by Narendra Modi in August 2025, the model has emerged as India’s most exported BEV in FY 2025–26, with over 25,000 units shipped to 44 countries and exports reaching more than 100 global markets.
The milestone delivery event highlights the growing demand for EVs in India and reinforces Maruti Suzuki’s push toward a sustainable mobility future.
