Telangana Government issued G.O. appointing Gadwal Vijay Laxmi as Chairperson and six members to the Telangana Women’s Commission.
Hyderabad: The Government of Telangana has appointed the Chairperson and Members to the Telangana Women’s Commission under the Telangana Women’s Commission Act, 1998. As per the official order issued by the General Administration (General, L&C) Department, Smt. Gadwal Vijay Laxmi has been appointed as Chairperson along with six members to the Telangana Women’s Commission.

Telangana Government Issues G.O.Rt.No. 637
The Government of Telangana issued G.O.Rt.No. 637 on May 11, 2026 regarding the appointment of the Chairperson and Members to the Telangana Women’s Commission.
The order was issued by the General Administration (General, L&C) Department.
According to the government order, the appointments were made under Section (5) of the Telangana Women’s Commission Act, 1998 (Act No. 9 of 1998), adopted for the State of Telangana vide G.O.Ms.No.45, Law (F) Department, dated 01.06.2016.
Gadwal Vijay Laxmi Appointed Chairperson of Telangana Women’s Commission
The Government of Telangana appointed the following persons as Chairperson and Members of the Telangana Women’s Commission:
- Gadwal Vijay Laxmi — Chairperson
- Kasoju Sankaramma — Member
- Chityala Swetha — Member
- Shashikala Yadava Reddy — Member
- Sada Laxmi — Member
- N. Radha Bai — Member
- Ujma Ashai Shakira — Member
Five-Year Term for Chairperson and Members
The government order stated that the term of the Chairperson and Members will be for a period of five years from the date on which they assume office.
The order also mentioned that the terms and conditions of appointment will be issued separately by the Department for Women, Children Disabled and Senior Citizens.

The order was issued “By Order and In the Name of the Governor of Telangana”.

The appointments were made by the General Administration (General, L&C) Department for a five-year term from the date of assuming office.
