CM Revanth Reddy Says Telangana Will Fight Centre for Rights, Slams BJP Policies and Defends Development Talks with PM Modi
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy said coordination with the Centre is necessary for development while criticising BJP policies, foreign policy failures, and discussing Telangana projects, Maoist surrenders, women’s reservation, and the Bandi Bhagirath case.

Hyderabad: A. Revanth Reddy on Monday said coordination with the Central government is essential for Telangana’s development while asserting that the state will continue to fight for its rights. During a media chit chat in Hyderabad, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy spoke on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP policies, Telangana development projects, Maoist surrenders, women’s reservation, the Regional Ring Road project, the Bandi Bhagirath case, foreign policy, farmers’ issues, and several other important matters.

Revanth Reddy Discusses Telangana Development With PM Modi
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several development works at HICC on Sunday.
The Telangana Chief Minister accompanied Prime Minister Modi during the government function at HICC and said the Prime Minister accepted the development issues raised by him.
Revanth Reddy stated that cooperation from the Centre is necessary for Telangana’s welfare and development programmes.
“I am the chief minister who defeated the BJP. But the Centre should be taken into consideration in the interest of the state,” he said.
He alleged that during the last 10 years, the KCR government did not seek funds from the Centre, while his government is demanding Telangana’s rights.
Revanth Reddy also clarified that Prime Minister Modi’s meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan was a private event.
Telangana Seeks 50 Per Cent Funds for Regional Ring Road
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said Telangana requested the Centre to provide 50 per cent funding for the Regional Ring Road project.
He said several projects including Metro expansion and the Southern Part Regional Ring Road are still pending.
According to the CM, approvals have already been received for:
- Kakatiya Mega Textile Park
- Airport clearances
- Defence lands
- ADB funds for the Musi project
- National Highways projects
He alleged these projects were delayed due to the negligence of the previous KCR government.
Telangana Aims to Become One Trillion Dollar Economy by 2034
Revanth Reddy said he requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to support Telangana’s goal of becoming a one trillion dollar economy by 2034.
According to the Chief Minister, Modi agreed and assured cooperation for Telangana’s development.
“The Prime Minister has said that we will work together for development,” Revanth Reddy said.
He clarified that discussions between him and Modi were purely related to development matters.
Revanth Reddy Attacks BJP Policies and Foreign Policy
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy described the BJP as the “British Janata Party” and alleged that the party follows a “divide and rule” ideology.
He stated that Muslims, Christians, and Maoists are also citizens of the country and have equal rights.
“It is their policy to kill those who oppose the BJP’s ideology,” he alleged.
Revanth Reddy said the Congress believes in persuading people who oppose its ideology and integrating them into public life rather than killing them.
He also accused the Centre of completely failing in foreign policy and lacking a clear policy direction.
According to him, BJP’s electoral policy is like a “Gemini circus”.
He alleged that the country is being pushed into crisis due to “inexperience and arrogance”.
The CM also remarked that Modi had “told us to eat the air and live in the air”.
Allegations Over SIR and BJP Election Strategy
Revanth Reddy alleged that the BJP is using the SIR as a political weapon.
He claimed that 90 lakh votes were deleted in West Bengal.
The Telangana CM pointed out that the BJP won only three seats in Kerala and two seats in Tamil Nadu.
He alleged that the SIR mechanism was being used in different states to secure victories.
Revanth Reddy further stated that the BJP failed to secure deposits in Jubilee Hills and questioned the party’s condition in municipalities.
Telangana Records 818 Maoist Surrenders
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that 818 Maoists have surrendered in Telangana and claimed there is no comparable situation anywhere else in the country.
“The Congress has been saying for a long time that it is not a bullet but a ballot and even the Maoists have come to the same path,” he said.
The Chief Minister stated that Telangana introduced special measures to encourage Maoist surrenders.
He also appealed to leaders like Ganapathy to join the mainstream.
According to him, surrendered Maoists would receive medical and financial assistance if required.
He also said Congress is a party that sacrificed lives for the country and mentioned that Sonia Gandhi pardoned those who killed Rajiv Gandhi.
Revanth Reddy Calls PM Modi’s Remarks “Unfortunate”
The Telangana CM said some statements made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi were unfortunate.
He reiterated that Muslims, Christians, Maoists, and people of all religions and castes are citizens of India with equal rights.
“Killing people is not the solution,” Revanth Reddy said.
He added that the Prime Minister should make statements that strengthen unity rather than division in the country.
According to him, such remarks are proof of BJP’s discriminatory politics.
Centre Criticised Over Foreign Policy and Economic Crisis
Revanth Reddy criticised the Centre over its handling of foreign policy and economic issues.
He said it reflected failure when citizens were being advised not to buy gold and not to travel by airplanes.
The Chief Minister urged the Centre to take suggestions from Opposition parties and convene an all-party meeting on the issue.
He accused Narendra Modi of pushing the country into crisis because of “inexperience and arrogance”.
Revanth Reddy Speaks on Women’s Reservation
The Chief Minister said women’s reservation can be implemented based on the 2011 Census.
He stated that constituency delimitation may be carried out proportionately within the existing 543 Lok Sabha seats.
“There is no formula for a 50 per cent hike,” he said.
According to him, elections are likely to be held in 2029.
Probe Expedited in Bandi Bhagirath Case
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also spoke about the case involving Bhagirath, son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
He said a case was registered after a girl’s mother lodged a complaint at Pet Basheerabad police station.
According to the Chief Minister, the FIR was registered on May 8 but the investigation was delayed because police personnel were engaged in security arrangements during Prime Minister Modi’s visit.
The CM said the investigation has now been expedited and a senior woman officer has been appointed as the investigating officer.
“No one is above the law,” Revanth Reddy said, adding that nobody has been spared so far.
Revanth Reddy Criticises RS Praveen Kumar and KTR
The Telangana Chief Minister also criticised RS Praveen Kumar.
He said RS Praveen Kumar had earlier complained about the phone tapping case and later described Prabhakar Rao as a righteous person.
Revanth Reddy stated that if RS Praveen Kumar has evidence, he should provide it to the police commissioner.
“Statements in front of the mics will not lead to an investigation,” he said.
The CM further alleged that K. T. Rama Rao had taken drugs from his farmhouse but did not allow them to leave.
He questioned how KTR and RS Praveen Kumar could interfere in police functioning.
Telangana Government Focuses on Farmers and Paddy Procurement
The CM said farmers are facing difficulties because of unseasonal rains.
However, he said the Telangana government is procuring wet grain from farmers.
Revanth Reddy added that awareness programmes would be conducted at the grassroots level to educate farmers about crop rotation.
He also said urea should be provided by the Centre while the state government should handle distribution.
Letter Sent to Centre on Tummidihatti Project
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said he already wrote to the Maharashtra Chief Minister regarding the Tummidihatti project issue.
He said another letter was sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to ensure a response from Maharashtra.
According to the CM, when disputes arise between two states, it is better for the Prime Minister to act as a leader.
He also sought discussions through Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy.
