Telangana to Develop Mega Growth Corridors, Temple Corridor and EV-Based Urban Infrastructure: CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced major proposals for Mega Growth Corridors, Temple Corridors, Tourism Corridors, EV-based official transport, renewable energy projects, and urban infrastructure development across Telangana during a high-level review meeting held with officials of the Municipal Administration and Roads and Buildings Department.

The Chief Minister directed officials to prepare long-term urban-centric development plans for municipalities and instructed that all infrastructure projects should be designed to meet the requirements of the next 25 years.
Mega Growth Corridors Planned Across Telangana
During the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy instructed officials to prepare plans for the development of the following growth corridors:
- Warangal – Karimnagar – Khammam Corridor
- Mahabubnagar – Bhoothpur – Jadcherla Corridor
- Kothagudem – Palvancha – Sujatha Nagar Corridor
The Chief Minister stated that the Warangal-Karimnagar-Khammam corridor would play a crucial role in the future development of Telangana.
Outer Ring Roads Planned for Major Municipal Corporations
As part of the urban infrastructure programme, the Chief Minister directed officials to construct Outer Ring Roads for:
- Khammam Municipal Corporation
- Warangal Municipal Corporation
- Karimnagar Municipal Corporation
He instructed officials to integrate towns with radial roads ensuring connectivity and close proximity to major municipalities.
Urban Planning to Focus on Waste Management and Renewable Energy
CM Revanth Reddy stressed that urban-centric development plans for every municipality should include:
- Solid waste management systems
- Waste water treatment plants
- Renewable energy plants
- Underground drainage systems using technology
The Chief Minister instructed that special attention be given to minimizing operational costs through technology and renewable energy use.
EV Vehicles to Be Used for Official Purposes
The Chief Minister ordered that only Electric Vehicles (EVs) should be hired for official purposes in the future to reduce cost burden.
He also directed officials to ensure renewable energy generation facilities at all urban locations.
Smart Poles, AI-Based Traffic Management Discussed
The meeting also discussed several urban modernization proposals, including:
- Installation of multi-utility towers in towns and cities to reduce radiation levels
- Smart poles across all locations
- AI-based traffic management systems
- Localized infrastructure planning based on population demographics
Officials were also instructed to make the use of treated water from the Sewage and Wastewater Management Board mandatory for all building construction activities.
Temple Corridor and Tourism Corridor Proposed
CM Revanth Reddy reviewed proposals for:
Temple Corridor
Connecting:
- Nalgonda
- Yadagirigutta
Tourism Corridor
Linking:
- Adilabad
- Nagoba
- Basara
- Kadem Project
The Chief Minister also ordered development and upgrading of the Alampur Jogulamba Temple in view of the upcoming Krishna Pushkarams festival.
Infrastructure Development Around New Airports
Referring to upcoming airport projects, the Chief Minister emphasized that water requirements for the proposed Warangal Airport should be properly planned.
He stated that:
- The Adilabad Airport is being established by the Ministry of Defence
- Roads must be constructed to improve connectivity to new airports
The CM said the region’s landscape would undergo major transformation after the development of these airport projects.
Singareni Municipalities to Be Integrated
CM Revanth Reddy also instructed officials to integrate all municipalities under the jurisdiction of Singareni Collieries into a single administrative unit.
