The Cyberabad Cybercrime Police in Hyderabad have apprehended a habitual matrimonial fraud offender allegedly involved in nearly 20 matrimonial fraud cases across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Police said the accused cheated women through fake matrimonial profiles created on various matrimonial applications.

According to Cyberabad Cybercrime Police, the accused created fake profiles on platforms including Telugu Matrimony, Reddy Matrimony, Brahmin Matrimony, Kamma Matrimony and other matrimonial websites by portraying himself as a wealthy and well-settled person using fake identities.
Accused Identified as Manda Venkata Kameshu
The accused was identified as Manda Venkata Kameshu, a resident of Undrajawaram, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh.
Police said the accused targeted women seeking matrimonial alliances and gained their trust through WhatsApp calls, Instagram chats and emotional conversations.
How the Matrimonial Fraud Was Carried Out
During the investigation, Cyberabad Cybercrime Police found that the accused allegedly dishonestly induced women to transfer money and share sensitive financial information.
Police said the accused collected:
- Credit card details
- OTPs
- Bank credentials
- Personal financial information
The accused allegedly used the cheated money for online betting and casinos in Goa.
Cyberabad Police Investigation and Arrest
The Cyber Crime Police, Cyberabad, detected the series of matrimonial fraud cases involving cheating women through fake matrimonial profiles during the course of investigation.
Police identified and apprehended the accused responsible for the offences. Authorities confirmed that the accused was subsequently sent to judicial custody.
According to police, the accused is involved in nearly 20 criminal cases relating to cheating and matrimonial frauds across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states.
Cyberabad Police Advisory to Public
Cyberabad Cybercrime Police issued an advisory asking citizens to remain cautious while interacting with unknown persons on matrimonial and social media platforms.
Police advised citizens:
- Not to trust matrimonial profiles solely based on photographs, job claims or luxurious lifestyle representations online.
- Never to share OTPs, bank account details, credit or debit card information, or personal financial details with unknown persons.
- To verify identity and background details before proceeding with matrimonial alliances.
- To report cyber offences to the nearest Cyber Crime Police Station or through the 1930 Cyber Helpline.
Police also encouraged citizens to use digital platforms responsibly and follow Cyberabad Police’s official communication channels for updates.
