TGSRTC, Union Bank Provide ₹1 Crore Each to Families of Drivers Killed in Road Accidents
TGSRTC and Union Bank of India handed over ₹1 crore each to the families of drivers Sudhakar and Srinivas Reddy who died in separate road accidents under a free accident insurance scheme.

Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC), in association with Union Bank of India, extended financial assistance of ₹1 crore each to the families of two employees who lost their lives in separate road accidents. The assistance was provided through the free accident insurance facility linked to the Union Bank Super Salary Savings Account under employee welfare initiatives encouraged by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

TGSRTC Drivers Sudhakar and Srinivas Reddy Died in Road Accidents
According to the official statement, driver Sudhakar from Picket Depot and driver Srinivas Reddy from Pargi Depot lost their lives in separate road accidents.
The deaths left their families in deep distress after losing the sole breadwinners of their households.
Officials stated that the Union Bank Super Salary Savings Account proved highly beneficial to the affected families during the difficult period.
₹1 Crore Assistance Through Free Accident Insurance Scheme
TGSRTC employees who opened designated salary accounts in Union Bank branches and obtained RuPay cards became eligible for accident insurance benefits under the initiative.
Under the scheme, in the event of accidental death, the employee’s family receives ₹1 crore financial assistance through free accident insurance coverage linked to the account.
Since both deceased employees held Super Salary Savings Accounts with Union Bank of India, their families became eligible for the insurance benefit.
Cheques Handed Over at Bus Bhavan Programme
Cheques worth ₹1 crore each were handed over to the families of the two deceased employees during a programme held at Bus Bhavan on Monday.
The cheques were jointly presented by:
- TGSRTC VC & MD Shri Y. Nagi Reddy
- Union Bank of India Chief General Manager Shri M. Ravindra Babu
- Regional Head Shri D. Venkateswarlu
Y. Nagi Reddy Highlights Employee Welfare Measures
Speaking on the occasion, TGSRTC VC & MD Y. Nagi Reddy expressed deep sorrow over the untimely deaths of the two drivers.
He said the organization remains firmly committed to the welfare and security of its employees and their families.
Nagi Reddy stated that under the guidance of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the government is focusing on strengthening employee welfare systems and ensuring social and financial security for workers and their dependents.
He also said that welfare schemes such as the free accident insurance facility become invaluable during times of crisis and urged employees to fully utilize such beneficial initiatives without negligence.
The MD thanked Union Bank of India for partnering with TGSRTC and supporting employees and their families during difficult times.
