Shabbir Ali Attacks Pawan Kalyan, Alleges Jana Sena Chief Is Promoting BJP’s Polarisation Agenda in Telangana

Mohammed Ali Shabbir criticised Pawan Kalyan over his remarks on the national anthem and national song, accusing the Jana Sena chief of promoting BJP’s polarisation agenda in Telangana.

Telangana Government Advisor and senior Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Thursday launched a sharp attack on Jana Sena chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, accusing him of promoting the BJP’s divisive political agenda in Telangana.

Reacting to Pawan Kalyan’s remarks regarding alleged opposition to the national anthem and national song in Telangana, Shabbir Ali described the claims as “baseless and irresponsible” and asserted that no such controversy exists in the state.

Shabbir Ali Calls Claims “Baseless and Irresponsible”

Speaking on the issue, Shabbir Ali said:

“Pawan Kalyan is trying to convert his wild filmy imagination into a political narrative. Telangana has no dispute with the national anthem, national song or the idea of India. These imaginary claims are being raised only to create suspicion, provoke emotions and help the BJP’s polarisation politics.”

According to Shabbir Ali, the remarks were aimed at creating unnecessary suspicion and emotional reactions among people.

Allegation of Political Visibility and Communal Polarisation

The Congress leader further alleged that the Jana Sena chief was attempting to manufacture an emotional issue to gain political visibility and assist communal polarisation.

He stated:

“Telangana has always upheld constitutional values, secularism and national unity. People here can clearly distinguish between genuine politics and political theatrics.”

Shabbir Ali maintained that Telangana remains committed to constitutional principles, secularism, and national integration.

Shabbir Ali Questions Jana Sena’s Political Relevance in Telangana

Questioning the political strength of Jana Sena in Telangana, Shabbir Ali pointed to the party’s electoral performance.

He stated that:

  • Jana Sena secured only about 0.25% vote share in the 2023 Telangana Assembly Elections.
  • The party won only two wards in the February 2026 municipal elections.
  • Jana Sena had fielded hundreds of candidates in those municipal polls.

He used these figures to question the party’s relevance in Telangana politics.

Demand for Apology Over Telangana Remarks

Shabbir Ali advised Pawan Kalyan to concentrate on governance responsibilities in Andhra Pradesh instead of creating controversies in Telangana.

He demanded that the Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister withdraw his remarks and apologise to the people of Telangana.

Current Status

The exchange remains a political war of words. No response from Pawan Kalyan was mentioned in the statement. Shabbir Ali has publicly demanded that the Jana Sena chief withdraw his comments and issue an apology to the people of Telangana.

The political controversy intensified on June 4 after Telangana Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir accused Jana Sena chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan of advancing the BJP’s polarisation agenda in Telangana. Calling Pawan Kalyan’s remarks on alleged opposition to the national anthem and national song “baseless and irresponsible,” Shabbir Ali cited Jana Sena’s 0.25% vote share in the 2023 Assembly elections and its two-ward victory in the February 2026 municipal polls. He demanded that Pawan Kalyan withdraw his remarks and apologise to the people of Telangana.
