As part of the special drive, Hyderabad Traffic Police conducted checks on school buses, vans and auto-rickshaws carrying extra school children and also targeted drunken driving and other traffic violations. During the operation, 1,852 vehicles were checked, 149 cases were booked against school auto-rickshaws for carrying children in excess of the permitted seating capacity, and 2 cases were registered against auto-rickshaw drivers transporting school children in a drunken condition. The enforcement drive is ongoing across the city.

According to the Hyderabad Traffic Police, special teams inspected school transport vehicles and monitored compliance with safety regulations.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police requested all parents not to send their children in vehicles carrying passengers beyond the permitted seating capacity.
Police stated that transporting children in excess of vehicle capacity endangers the lives of children.
The department also requested school managements and parents to verify the validity of the following documents before engaging vehicles for transporting children to schools:
- Driving Licence of the driver
- Registration Certificate
- Insurance Certificate
- Fitness Certificate of the vehicle

The Hyderabad Traffic Police appealed to citizens to report traffic violations committed by school buses, vans and autos.
