Hyderabad: A ministers’ meeting chaired by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy decided to release Rythu Bharosa funds as investment support for farmers during the upcoming Vanakalam (Kharif) crop season. The meeting also resolved to organize a large-scale Farmers’ Meeting on June 30 at Madhira in Khammam district.

During the farmers’ gathering, the government will officially launch the process of releasing Rythu Bharosa funds and depositing the assistance directly into farmers’ bank accounts. The ministers also announced a bonus for seven fine paddy varieties. The decisions were disclosed to the media after the meeting by Uttam Kumar Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, and Seethakka.
Bonus Announced for 7 Fine Paddy Varieties
The ministers stated that the government decided to provide a bonus for seven fine rice varieties after considering factors such as:
- Market demand
- Consumer usage
- Higher yield potential
The bonus will apply to the following seven fine paddy varieties:
- BPT-5204
- RNR-15048
- HMT Sona
- Jai Sriram
- KNM-1638
- WGL-44
- KNM-7715
Telangana Records High Paddy Production and Procurement
According to the ministers, Telangana farmers produced a record quantity of paddy this year, the highest in the country.
They stated that the state government has already procured nearly 80 lakh metric tonnes of paddy during the current season, describing it as a record procurement level.
Ministers Express Concern Over Central Procurement
The ministers’ meeting expressed concern that the Central Government was procuring less paddy from Telangana compared to other states.
The meeting appealed to the Centre to purchase the entire paddy produced in Telangana.
The ministers stated that the state government is ready to procure agricultural produce according to the guidelines fixed by the Centre and expects the Central Government to continue allocating adequate procurement quotas in the future so that farmers do not face difficulties.
Telangana Seeks Immediate Release of Fertilizer Quota
The meeting urged the Central Government to immediately release the fertilizer quota allocated to Telangana for the Vanakalam season.
According to the ministers:
- The state has already written several letters to the Centre requesting the release of fertilizer allocations.
- A decision has been taken to visit New Delhi soon and once again request the Central Government to release the fertilizer quota immediately.
- The objective is to ensure that farmers do not face hardship during the agricultural season.
Ramagundam FCI Urea Allocation Demand
The ministers demanded that Telangana receive the highest share of urea produced at the FCI unit in Ramagundam.
The meeting observed that allocating Telangana’s share of urea locally instead of transporting it to Madhya Pradesh and Bihar would reduce transportation costs.
Resolution on Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme
The ministers stated that the meeting resolved to continue the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in its existing form rather than replacing it with the newly introduced VBG Ram Ji Scheme proposed by the Centre.
Cabinet Sub-Committee Constituted
A Cabinet Sub-Committee has been formed to comprehensively study the impact of the proposed new law on workers and the state government.
The sub-committee will function under the leadership of:
- Uttam Kumar Reddy
- Tummala Nageswara Rao
- Seethakka
- Vivek Venkatswamy
Telangana Seeks Metro Phase-2 Approval
The meeting urged the Central Government to grant the necessary approvals for the Hyderabad Metro Phase-2 expansion.
The ministers also requested the immediate release of the loan due under the agreement from IRFC.
According to the meeting, Metro Phase-2 expansion is crucial in view of Hyderabad’s traffic conditions and the growing needs of commuters.
The ministers appealed to Union Ministers and BJP MPs representing Telangana to extend support for the Metro expansion project.
Free RTC Travel for NEET Students
The ministers announced that students appearing for the national-level NEET examination on June 21 will be provided free travel in RTC buses across Telangana.
According to the meeting:
- Approximately 208 examination centres have been arranged in the state.
- Around 2.95 lakh students are expected to appear for the examination.
- Free RTC bus travel will be provided to all candidates attending the exam.
