Tahreek Muslim Shabban, JAC, Aziz Pasha and community leaders submitted a memorandum to Mohammed Azharuddin seeking protection of Waqf properties, reopening of the Waqf Board Record Room and greater transparency in the Telangana State Waqf Board.

Representatives of Tahreek Muslim Shabban, the Joint Action Committee (JAC), and several community organizations, including former CPI MP Aziz Pasha, submitted a memorandum to Mohammed Azharuddin at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat on Friday. The delegation sought urgent government intervention for the protection of Waqf properties and greater transparency in the functioning of the Telangana State Waqf Board.

The organizations also called for the publication of a comprehensive inventory of Waqf properties across Telangana.
The memorandum sought disclosure of:
- Details of encroached Waqf properties
- Assets under litigation
- Recovery efforts relating to Waqf properties
The delegation emphasized the need for public access to information regarding the status and protection of Waqf assets.
Demand for White Paper and Financial Transparency
The memorandum further demanded:

- Issuance of a White Paper on Waqf assets

Regular Meetings of Telangana State Waqf Board Sought
The delegation also urged authorities to ensure regular meetings of the Telangana State Waqf Board to address pending issues concerning:
- Mosques
- Dargahs
- Graveyards
- Mutawallis
- Management committees
The organizations said regular meetings would help resolve long-pending issues affecting Waqf institutions.
Memorandum Stresses Legal and Moral Responsibility
According to the memorandum, safeguarding Waqf properties is both a legal and moral responsibility.
The delegation urged the government to take immediate measures to:
