CM Revanth Reddy Orders Indiramma Housing Within Hyderabad City Limits, 7,680 Flats Planned in First Phase

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to ensure that Indiramma Housing flats under the Core Urban Area (CURE) project are constructed within existing residential areas in Hyderabad instead of on the city’s outskirts. The Chief Minister said the move would help beneficiaries stay close to their workplaces and avoid losing livelihood opportunities. The government plans to construct 7,680 flats in the first phase across 17 Assembly constituencies, while identifying unused government land within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) for the project.

Revanth Reddy Reviews Indiramma Housing Project in CURE Area

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy chaired a review meeting on Indiramma Housing in the Core Urban Area (CURE) along with Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and Ponnam Prabhakar, besides senior officials from various departments.

Officials briefed the Chief Minister about the land already identified in several Assembly constituencies for the housing project.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed officials to identify unused government land within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) for the construction of Indiramma Housing flats.

Surplus Police, Revenue and Transport Department Land to Be Used

The Chief Minister directed officials to utilise surplus land belonging to the Police Department, Revenue Department, and Transport Department for the project.

He also instructed that if such land is taken for housing construction, alternative land should be allotted to the respective departments.

The Chief Minister further asked officials to speed up the process of identifying unused government land in the selected Assembly constituencies.

Indiramma Houses Should Not Be Built Far from Residential Areas

Revanth Reddy said allocating Indiramma Houses far away from residential areas could create difficulties for beneficiaries by affecting their employment and livelihood opportunities. He observed that such houses could eventually become unused.

He instructed officials to ensure that the houses are constructed within residential areas and close to workplaces, so poor families do not lose their means of livelihood.

7,680 Flats Planned in First Phase Across 17 Assembly Constituencies

The Telangana Government has announced the construction of Indiramma Housing flats for poor families in several constituencies under the CURE area.

In the first phase, the government plans to build 7,680 flats across the following 17 Assembly constituencies:

• Rajendranagar
• Maheshwaram
• Serilingampally
• Ibrahimpatnam
• Malkajgiri
• Nampally
• Khairatabad
• Jubilee Hills
• Karwan
• Bahadurpura
• Amberpet
• Kukatpally
• Medchal
• Qutbullapur
• Sanathnagar
• Secunderabad Cantonment
• Malakpet

Flat Size and Cost Details of Indiramma Housing

Each Indiramma Housing flat will have:

• Built-up area: 528 square feet
• Carpet area: 400 square feet

The estimated cost of constructing each flat is ₹11 lakh.

The financial structure is as follows:

• Government subsidy: ₹5 lakh
• Beneficiary contribution: ₹6 lakh
• Land cost: To be borne entirely by the Telangana Government
