Indian Art and Culture Book by Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Sayeed Launched in Chicago

The book was launched by Ambassador Somnath Ghosh, Consul General of India in Chicago, during an event attended by prominent academics, elected representatives, community leaders and members of the Indian American community.

Chicago: A new book exploring India’s rich artistic, cultural and historical heritage, Indian Art and Culture: A Journey Through Time and Tradition, authored by distinguished Indian diplomat, scholar and author Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, was formally launched at Northwest Suburban College in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.

The book was launched by Ambassador Somnath Ghosh, Consul General of India in Chicago, during an event attended by prominent academics, elected representatives, community leaders and members of the Indian American community.

Among those present were Prof. Sampath Ramesh of Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, Councilman Ashfaq Syed of the City of Naperville, Raees Yawer, Streamwood Park District Commissioner, Syed Shanawaz Khan, Mir Khan, Chicago community leader, and M.T. AliNiazee, President of Northwest Suburban College, along with several other guests.

The event brought together educators, cultural enthusiasts, professionals and members of the wider Chicagoland community to celebrate Dr. Sayeed’s latest literary contribution. Guests also had an opportunity to interact with the author and learn about the inspiration behind the book.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Somnath Ghosh praised Dr. Sayeed’s efforts to document and promote India’s cultural heritage.

He said the book reflects the richness, diversity and continuity of India’s civilizational heritage and would help introduce the country’s remarkable cultural traditions to readers across generations.

In Indian Art and Culture, Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Sayeed takes readers through India’s diverse cultural landscape, highlighting its artistic traditions, historical heritage and the enduring influence of its civilization. The book seeks to offer readers a deeper understanding and appreciation of the traditions that have shaped India over centuries.

Ambassador Dr. Sayeed said that India’s art and culture tell the story of a civilization that has evolved over thousands of years while continuing to inspire the world.

“This book is an effort to celebrate that remarkable heritage and encourage greater appreciation and understanding of India’s cultural traditions,” he said.

The gathering also served as an occasion for the Indian American community and friends of India to come together and reflect on the importance of preserving cultural heritage and passing on India’s rich traditions to future generations.

The event concluded with the organizers thanking the guests and participants for making the book launch a memorable celebration of literature, culture, diplomacy, heritage and community.
