The dispute between Konda Surekha and several Congress leaders from the Warangal region has reportedly continued since the Congress government came to power in Telangana. The latest controversy is said to have intensified following recent remarks made by Konda Surekha’s daughter, Konda Sushmita.
Taking serious note of the comments, several MLAs and senior Congress leaders from the erstwhile Warangal district who are opposed to Konda Surekha reportedly held a special meeting on Thursday.
During the meeting, the leaders are said to have passed a resolution demanding disciplinary action against the Konda family. They reportedly urged the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) to suspend the family from the party.

The resolution passed at the meeting was subsequently sent to the TPCC for further action, according to reports.
The development has once again brought the ongoing factionalism within the Congress in the Warangal district into focus. The TPCC is yet to make an official announcement regarding the reported demand for disciplinary action.
Political observers believe that the party leadership may now have to intervene to address the growing differences between the Konda faction and other Congress leaders in the district.
