Three people were killed and five others injured as two cars collided head-on at Banapuram village in Devarapalli mandal of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
Eluru: Three people were killed and five others injured as two cars collided head-on at Banapuram village in Devarapalli mandal of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
The three persons killed in the accident were travelling in one car.
Police said that seven members of a family went to Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam from Hyderabad to attend a function.
When they were going back to Hyderabad, their car collided with another car which was going to Visakhapatnam from Nandigama in NTR district.
The deceased were identified as Divya Priya (25), Ramadevi (50) and Ganiska (19 months).
Five persons were injured in the accident and they were admitted to private hospitals in Rajahmundry and Kovvur.
Both the cars were going at high speed when the accident took place. The police removed the ill-fated cars from the highway and cleared the traffic.
