Hyderabad: In a concerted effort to combat the issue of individuals posing as beggars and harassing pedestrians on city streets, the task force undertook a specialized operation that resulted in the apprehension of Anil Pawar.
Hailing from Karnataka, Pawar was identified as the mastermind behind a beggary syndicate operating within the city. He recruited individuals to beg at various intersections in different sections of Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills, offering them a daily wage of Rs 200 each. Additionally, 23 beggars were detained for additional scrutiny.
Inspector Mohd Khaleel Pasha of the West Zone Task Force explained that they initiated the targeted operation with the collaborative support of GHMC officials and Operation Smile. This operation led to the capture of 23 individuals engaged in soliciting from motorists at the intersections near KBR Park and the Jubilee Hills check post.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that these individuals were under the employment of Anil Pawar, who managed to collect an astounding Rs 6,000 per day solely from those begging at the Jubilee Hills check post. In response, law enforcement confiscated two motorcycles from Pawar and subsequently lodged a case against him at the Jubilee Hills Police Station for the purpose of further inquiry.
