New Delhi: Central Home Minister Amit Shah claimed on Saturday that in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will get 370 seats, and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by him will get over 400 seats, with Narendra Modi becoming the Prime Minister again.
The government under Narendra Modi’s leadership will be elected for the third consecutive time. Amit Shah said that there is no doubt about the results of the Lok Sabha elections, and even the Congress and other opposition parties have realized that they will have to sit in the opposition again.
Regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Amit Shah said that the law implemented in 2019 will be enforced before the Lok Sabha elections after issuing rules in this regard.
The Home Minister further said, “Our Muslim brothers are being misled and incited against the CAA. CAA is only to grant citizenship to those people who have faced oppression in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh and come to India.” It is not to take away anyone’s Indian citizenship.”
Speaking at the ‘ET Now Global Business Summit 2024,’ Amit Shah said, “We have abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution (which granted special status to the former state of Jammu and Kashmir), so we are confident that people of the country will vote. BJP will get 370 seats.” and the NDA will secure more than 400 seats.”
When asked about the possibility of the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), and some other regional parties joining the NDA, the Home Minister hinted at further parties joining the ruling alliance and said that BJP “has faith in its family.”
“We make plans, but we don’t implement them in politics,” he added. When asked about the possibility of the SAD rejoining the NDA, Shah said, “Discussions are ongoing, but no decision has been made.”
Amit Shah said that the 2024 elections will not be between the NDA and the opposition alliance ‘India’ (Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance) but between development and mere sloganeering.
When asked about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra,’ he said that the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty has no right to undertake such a journey because their party was responsible for the partition of the country in 1947. Regarding the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Amit Shah said that initially, the policy of appeasement and peace was followed, which is why the construction of the Ram temple was delayed.”
