Case Filed Against Former Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan Rao’s Family Over Alleged Attack on Hostel Management

A video that has now gone viral on social media allegedly shows Rao’s mother-in-law, Sridevi, grabbing a woman hostel operator by her hair and assaulting her in the presence of police personnel.

Bonthu Rammohan Rao, former Hyderabad Mayor and Congress leader, along with his family members, has been booked following allegations of assault and harassment against hostel operators in Ameerpet, Hyderabad.

According to the management of Asian Hostel, the building was leased to them after paying nearly Rs 2 crore as advance. The operators claimed they invested huge amounts and have been running the hostel business from the premises.

However, the hostel management alleged that Bonthu Rammohan Rao and his family members have recently been pressuring them to vacate the building. They further accused the family of physically attacking and threatening them.

A video that has now gone viral on social media allegedly shows Rao’s mother-in-law, Sridevi, grabbing a woman hostel operator by her hair and assaulting her in the presence of police personnel.

The hostel operators alleged that despite paying huge amounts, they are now being forcefully evicted and intimidated through alleged false cases and police pressure. They appealed to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to provide them protection and justice.

Following the complaint, a case has been registered against Bonthu Rammohan Rao and his wife Sridevi. Panjagutta police are currently investigating the matter.
