Charlapalli–Tiruchanur Weekly Express Train Announced, G Kishan Reddy Thanks Railway Ministry

The Railway Ministry approved a new Charlapalli–Tiruchanur Weekly Express train from May 17, 2026 following the initiative of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy.

Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy announced that the Railway Ministry has officially approved a new weekly express train service between Charlapalli and Tiruchanur for the benefit of railway passengers and devotees visiting Tirumala Venkateswara Temple.

The new Charlapalli–Tiruchanur Weekly Express service will begin operations from May 17, 2026.

Railway Ministry Approves Weekly Express Train

According to the announcement, the new weekly express train was approved following the initiative taken by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy.

The minister thanked the Railway Minister and officials of South Central Railway for sanctioning the train considering passenger rush and public demand.

He said the service would greatly help devotees travelling for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala.

Charlapalli–Tiruchanur Train Timings

Train Number 17059: Charlapalli – Tiruchanur

Train No. 17059 will depart from Charlapalli every Sunday at 21:30 hours and reach Tiruchanur on Monday at 12:30 PM.

Train Number 17060: Tiruchanur – Charlapalli

During the return journey, Train No. 17060 will depart from Tiruchanur every Monday at 16:00 hours and arrive at Charlapalli on Tuesday at 08:00 AM.

Major Stations Where the Train Will Stop

The weekly express train will stop at the following important stations during its journey:

  • Malkajgiri
  • Kacheguda
  • Shadnagar
  • Mahabubnagar
  • Wanaparthy Road
  • Gadwal
  • Kurnool City
  • Done
  • Gooty
  • Tadipatri
  • Yerraguntla
  • Kadapa
  • Rajampet
  • Renigunta Junction

The train will begin from Charlapalli and continue through Telangana and Rayalaseema districts before reaching Tiruchanur.

20 Modern Coaches in the New Weekly Express

To ensure passenger comfort during the long-distance journey, the Railway Ministry has arranged a total of 20 modern coaches in the train.

The train will include:

  • Second AC coaches
  • Third AC coaches
  • Sleeper Class coaches
  • General Second Class coaches

Benefit for Hyderabad and Telangana Passengers

The newly developed Charlapalli Terminal in the outskirts of Hyderabad is expected to benefit passengers from Secunderabad surrounding areas as well as travellers from Telangana and Rayalaseema districts.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy urged passengers and devotees to make extensive use of the new regular railway service introduced by the Central Government considering the heavy rush of devotees travelling to Tirupati.
