CM Revanth Reddy inaugurates Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad Financial District; Telangana targets 50% of India’s medical services.

A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated Apollo Hospital (The Hospital of Gratitude) in the Financial District, Hyderabad, along with Damodar Rajanarasimha.

During the event, the Chief Minister stated that Telangana aims to provide more than 50 percent of the country’s medical services and assured that the government will take necessary policy decisions to support hospital development. The project has been launched and is operational.

Telangana Targets 50% of India’s Medical Services

The Chief Minister said:

  • The government aims for over 50% of medical services in India to come from Telangana
  • The state will take policy-level decisions without gaps to achieve this
  • The government will provide full support and security for investments in the healthcare sector

He emphasized that the government is always available to support the growth of the medical sector.

Push for Medical Tourism and Global Connectivity

Highlighting #MedicalTourism, the CM stated:

  • Earlier, there was no dedicated policy for medical tourism
  • The government has now introduced a new policy
  • The state is encouraging growth in the sector

He added that:

  • Requests have been made to the Prime Minister and Union Civil Aviation Minister
  • To establish direct flight services with West Asia countries to boost medical tourism

Hyderabad’s Growth as Pharma and Healthcare Hub

The Chief Minister recalled:

  • In 1967, Indira Gandhi established IDPL in Hyderabad
  • This led to Hyderabad becoming a pharma hub

He stated:

  • 40% of bulk drug exports from India come from Hyderabad

Apollo Hospitals Expansion Milestone

The CM noted:

  • Dr. Prathap C Reddy started Apollo Hospitals 46 years ago in Chennai with 150 beds
  • The Hyderabad facility marks the 76th branch of Apollo Hospitals
  • He expressed hope that the 100th branch will be inaugurated by December 2028

The Chief Minister praised Apollo Hospitals, stating:

  • It is a role model for the country
  • It has become an international brand
  • The name “Apollo” is associated with hope for millions of people
