Warangal: A political dispute has reportedly emerged in Vardhannapet of Warangal district following the municipal elections, with a Congress candidate allegedly demanding the return of Rs 5 lakh that was given to a group associated with a particular faction after the candidate lost the election.

According to preliminary information, the Congress candidate had reportedly given Rs 5 lakh to members of the group in connection with the election. Following the defeat, the candidate allegedly asked the group to return the money.

However, members of the group from Wards 7, 8 and 12 have reportedly refused to return the amount, stating that they cannot repay the money.
