Sameer Waliullah strongly condemned the BRS Government for the delay in releasing funds to the Ashur Khanas and other arrangements for the ‘Moharram Juloos’.
He accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of neglecting the Old City and the minorities, hindering their religious events by not releasing funds.
The Hyderabad DCC President said that the observance of Muharram mourning is a longstanding tradition in Hyderabad and symbolizes communal harmony.
He pointed out that KCR visited the Bibi Ka Alam only once during his two terms as the Chief Minister, making several promises on that visit, none of which were fulfilled.

Waliullah demanded that elaborate arrangements be made for the Yaum-e-Ashura and procession on the 10th of Muharram, falling on July 29 and said the duty of all citizens is to respect, protect, and practice the centuries-old tradition, which has provided a distinct identity to Hyderabad.
