Djokovic beats Norrie to lead Serbia into Davis Cup semis

Madrid: World No.1 Novak Djokovic defeated Cameron Norrie 6-4, 6-4 to send Serbia into Davis Cup semifinals here on Thursday with a 2-0 win over Britain.

In the first singles match, Djokovic’s teammate Miomir Kecmanovic edged Jack Draper 7-6 (2), 7-6 (6).

Italy defeated the Netherlands 2-1 and will face Serbia in the semifinals on Saturday.

“Now we play Italy. They are a very strong nation. We are going to fight and leave it all out on the court,” Djokovic said.
