Eight school students injured as auto-rickshaw collides with lorry

In a horrific accident on Wednesday, Bethany School students in the port city faced the repercussions of an auto-rickshaw driver’s negligence and reckless driving.

The vehicle collided with a moving lorry at Sangam Sarat theatre junction, resulting in injuries to eight students—four boys and four girls.

A female student’s condition is reportedly serious, prompting doctors at a corporate hospital to perform surgery for her head injuries.

The unfortunate accident occurred during the auto-rickshaw’s journey to the school, as it traversed from Diamond Park Road to Ambedkar Statue Road.

The collision transpired when the auto-rickshaw directly struck a lorry heading from Railway Station Road to Bus Complex Road, causing the auto-rickshaw to overturn. Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
