In the wake of heavy rainfall, Hyderabad is facing a challenging situation as numerous residents in various areas are forced to navigate through waist-deep water that has flooded their homes.
The continuous downpour has led to significant waterlogging in several parts of the city. One of the hardest-hit areas is Alwal, where sewage water has not only submerged low-lying regions but has also brought an unwelcome surprise that has caused fear among the locals.
On Wednesday, a snake, presumably carried into the residential area by the floodwaters, managed to make its way into one of the houses in Alwal.
Filled with terror due to the snake’s presence and growing anxiety over the rising water levels, the residents immediately reached out to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) authorities for help.
However, despite making a distress call six hours ago, they received no assistance, leading to mounting frustration and concern. The snake continued to linger in the house, posing a potential threat to the residents, including Sampat Kumar, a young man living in the affected area.
Fueled by impatience and anger, Kumar decided to take matters into his own hands. He bravely caught the snake and carried it to the Alwal GHMC ward office, using it as a daring act of protest. Placing the snake on the table, he demanded prompt action from the concerned officials.
