In the Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan, a somber atmosphere enveloped the area as the funerals of eight children, who tragically lost their lives together, took place. Tears welled up in every eye as the community came together to bid farewell to the young souls. The funeral prayers for the children, laid to rest amidst the sand dunes in Shangla district, were conducted today. A multitude of local residents joined in mourning as the eight funerals unfolded, filling the air with sorrow.
The heart-wrenching incident occurred in Kuz Kaly area of Martung tehsil in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Shangla district when a sand dune collapsed on a group of children playing cricket, claiming the lives of all eight. Among the victims were four brothers from two households. The ages of the children ranged from thirteen to fourteen years old. The search operation, carried out by Rescue One One Two, has concluded, and according to local witnesses, no more children are reported missing.
