Hyderabad: After a brief closure that left many food lovers disappointed, Cafe Bahar, an iconic restaurant famous for its biryani, may soon reopen in Hyderabad. The Supreme Court has issued a ruling that paves the way for the restaurant to resume operations after an internal family dispute forced it to shut down on October 10.

This popular dining spot, cherished by both locals and tourists, had been closed for the first time in its 51-year history due to conflicts among its managing partners, who are family members. The closure prompted legal action, which has now reached a significant milestone in the Supreme Court.

A three-judge Supreme Court bench, led by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and including Justices J.B. Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, overturned a previous decision by the Telangana High Court that had appointed an external resolution professional to oversee the restaurant.

Instead, the Supreme Court has reinstated Ali Asghar Bolooki, a managing partner, to handle daily operations. Bolooki will manage the restaurant until a full valuation of assets is completed and a settlement among partners is reached.

To expedite the resolution, the Supreme Court appointed an independent valuator to assess the restaurant’s assets. Justice Goda Raghuram has been designated as an arbitrator to mediate any disputes that may arise during the asset distribution process.

Cafe Bahar has been a celebrated spot in Hyderabad’s culinary scene for decades, renowned for its signature biryani and other delicacies. With the Supreme Court’s ruling, food lovers can soon expect to once again enjoy their favorite dishes at this beloved restaurant.
