A major fire broke out at a shopping complex in Hyderabad’s Ameerpet area on Thursday afternoon, causing panic among shop owners, employees and commuters. The blaze erupted at KSR Fashions, located on the second floor of the commercial complex near Metro Pillar No. 1043, and gradually spread to adjacent shops.
Upon receiving information, fire department personnel rushed to the spot with three fire engines and eight water tankers. After several hours of firefighting operations, the flames were brought under control. Authorities also evacuated people from nearby shops as a precautionary measure.
The incident led to severe traffic congestion on the busy main road near the shopping complex. Thick smoke engulfed the area, causing inconvenience to local residents and motorists.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported as shop employees managed to evacuate the premises immediately after the fire broke out. However, officials estimate that the incident caused significant property damage.
According to fire department officials, the intensity of the blaze increased due to the presence of a helmet store inside the complex, where large quantities of plastic materials caught fire and fueled the flames.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
