Hyderabad: In a major development, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar felicitated a father-son duo for exposing a gas cylinder scam, where LPG cylinders were allegedly underweight and illegally refilled. The event was held on Saturday at TGICCC, Banjara Hills, where the duo was honoured with a certificate of appreciation and cash reward.

How the Gas Cylinder Scam Was Detected
The incident came to light when:
- Ashok Tiwari, a trader from Chudi Bazaar, booked a gas cylinder on last month 21st
- During delivery, his 16-year-old son Naman Tiwari noticed the cylinder was underweight
- He pointed out that even in the previous delivery, the cylinder was 2 kg less
- As per rules, the cylinder should weigh 30.4 kg, but it weighed only 28 kg
Due to suspicion over gas finishing quickly, they checked the weight and found approximately 2 kg gas shortage.
Illegal LPG Refilling Exposed in Jumeraat Bazaar
When questioned:
- Representatives of Siddhartha Enterprises Agency responded rudely
- The father-son duo investigated further
- They discovered that agency employees were illegally refilling LPG from domestic cylinders into small cylinders for commercial use
This activity was taking place:
- At a house in Jumeraat Bazaar
- In public areas violating safety norms, risking lives
Police Case and Arrests by Goshamahal Police
A complaint was filed at Goshamahal Police Station.
Police registered a case against:
- Siddhartha Enterprises Agency
- Along with five accused

- Poosa Ganesh
- Praveen Kumar
- Amit Kumar
Seized Items:
- 2 commercial cylinders
- 7 domestic cylinders
- 12 small cylinders

CP Sajjanar’s Statement and Felicitation
Hyderabad CP V. C. Sajjanar praised the duo, stating:
“They acted like police without uniform and courageously questioned illegal activities. They are role models for society.”
He added:
- Illegal operators are cheating common people and risking lives
- Citizens must not stay silent when such crimes happen
- Police will always support responsible citizens

The CP urged:
- Consumers to check quality and quantity of products regularly
- Report fraud by dialing 100 or informing local police
He warned:
- Strict action will be taken against illegal gas refilling
- Police will maintain continuous surveillance
