Further investigation revealed:
- Some packets belonged to 2023 batch, indicating they were expired
- The products posed a serious health risk to consumers
Accused Confesses to Illegal Purchase and Sale
The accused Mohammed Firoz Ali, son of Mohammed Hamza Ali, resident of Kumraki Gumbad, Ziaguda, Hyderabad, reportedly confessed that:
- He purchased the stock in bulk at low prices from Malakpet
- Planned to sell them in weekly markets for profit
Case Registered Under BNS Sections
The case was registered by investigating officer L. Narasimha under Crime No. 152/2026 with the following sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita:
- Section 125: Acts endangering life or personal safety
- Section 274: Adulteration of food or drink intended for sale
- Section 318: Cheating and fraudulent sale of goods
