Hyderabad Liberation Day to be celebrated on Sep 17 at Parade Grounds

G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, will be the Chief Guest at the Event. The celebrations will also feature cultural programs highlighting the historical struggle for Hyderabad's liberation.

Hyderabad: The Ministry of Culture, Government of India, will be organising Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad, on September 17 to commemorate the liberation of Hyderabad from the rule of the Nizam on this day in 1948.

As part of the celebrations, para-military and defence forces will conduct a parade following the unfurling of the National Flag.

G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, will be the Chief Guest at the Event. The celebrations will also feature cultural programs highlighting the historical struggle for Hyderabad’s liberation.

In preparation for the main event on September 17, a full rehearsal will be held tomorrow, September 14, starting at 0900 hours at Parade Grounds.

Dr K Laxman, Member of Rajya Sabha and National President of BJP OBC Morcha, will oversee the parade rehearsal and review the readiness of the cultural performances.

 After inspecting the parade and cultural events, Dr Laxman will address the press, according to an official statement released on Friday.
