Islamophobia in Germany: Mosque vandalized; Muslim girl targeted

Anti-Muslim and racist movements are gaining strength in Germany day by day.

Dortmund: Anti-Muslim and racist movements are gaining strength in Germany day by day. In a latest incident, a mosque in northwestern Germany was vandalized by painting a swastika on one of its doors. Earlier, a racist attack was made targeting a girl from the minority Muslim community. 

Claiming that similar attacks on the mosques in Dortmund city in North Rhine-Westphalia state were carried out last month as well, Turgut Ulker, head of Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs has demanded that the authorities take urgent action and protect places of worship.

Earlier, a German-Turkish girl, Dilan Sozeri suffered a racist attack at a Berlin tram station. She was falsely accused by police of provoking the assault on her. 

17-year-old, Sozeri was assaulted by six people who also hurled racial slurs and threats at her at the Greifswalder tram stop. She was later hospitalized for suffering wounds.
