KCR seeks CPI support in Munugode byelection

The Chief Minister held a meeting with CPI state Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy and other party leaders at his camp office here on Friday night, official sources said.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has sought the support of Communist Party of India (CPI) in the Munugode byelection.
The Chief Minister held a meeting with CPI state Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy and other party leaders at his camp office here on Friday night, official sources said.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister asked the support of the CPI in the byelection.
The CPI leaders assured KCR that the party would extend the support to TRS in any election to be held in the state.

However, a decision to support the TRS in the Munugode bypoll would be announced officially after discussing in the party state committee meeting today.

The date for holding the bypoll is yet to be announced by the Election Commission of India.
The Chief Minister also asked the CPI leaders to participate in the public meeting to be held at Munugode at 1600 hours during the day.

Responding to this, the CPI leaders agreed to participate in the meeting, the sources added.
