Hyderabad: Telangana Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Monday laid the foundation stone at Uppal Bhagayath for the construction of five bridges at various locations across the Musi River in Hyderabad.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) will undertake the construction of these bridges across the Musi River at a cost of Rs. 168 crores.
Prior to this, the Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development also laid the foundation stone for the construction of a four-lane high-level bridge on the Musi River, connecting Fathullaguda and Peerzadiguda in Hyderabad as part of HRDCL’s missing link roads development initiative.
This bridge will establish a crucial connection between the Central Ground Water Board and significant areas such as Boduppal, Peerzadiguda, Uppal, and the Warangal National Highway, greatly facilitating the smooth flow of goods and people between these locations. Commuters will experience a reduction in travel distance from 9 km to 4 km and a decrease in travel time from 21 minutes to 10 minutes.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister KTR announced that the state government will construct a total of 15 bridges across the River Musi at various locations in the city at a cost of Rs 545 crore. Among these, the Fathullaguda bridge will be constructed with an estimated budget of Rs 52 crore.
The Minister emphasized that each of these bridges will possess unique and distinctive design aspects, potentially making them preferred locations for film shootings, akin to Durgam Cheru in the city.
Minister KTR also emphasized that these bridges will not only enhance road connectivity but also contribute to the overall aesthetics of the region. He highlighted the recent developments in road infrastructure in areas like Nagole, LB Nagar, and Bairamalguda. Additionally, he announced plans for metro connectivity services from Nagole to LB Nagar and Pedda Amberpet near ORR.
“Hyderabad city generates nearly 45 percent of the State’s revenue. Ensuring basic amenities like power, drinking water, and law and order are maintained in the city would lead to a happier population,” the Minister stated.
He also noted that over the past nine years, the government had successfully completed numerous projects and called on the people to support the leaders and government working towards the welfare and development of the State.
