On that fateful day, Pannalal attacked his wife, Anita, severely injuring her and the unborn child. “He wanted to check the gender of the sixth child and attacked me, cutting out my intestines and injuring the unborn child,” Anita recounted. The horrific assault left her unconscious, after which Pannalal fled the scene.

Assistant District Government Counsel (criminal), Munendra Pratap Singh, detailed the case, explaining, “Pannalal, motivated by the desire for a son, attacked his wife to determine the gender of their unborn child. This resulted in severe injuries to both Anita and the unborn child.”

The court, recognizing the gravity of the crime, sentenced Pannalal to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 50,000. “The court has served justice by sentencing the accused to life imprisonment and imposing a fine,” stated Singh.

Anita expressed her relief at the verdict, stating, “The court has served justice to me.”
