National Sports Day observed at MANUU
The theme of the event was “Sports as an enabler for an inclusive and fit society”.
Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) yesterday celebrated National Sports Day (NSD) to mark the birth anniversary of Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand & to commemorate India’s deep-rooted tradition of sports.
The theme of the event was “Sports as an enabler for an inclusive and fit society”.
The Directorate of Physical Education & Sports (DPE&S) organized Athletics 100 mtrs Race for MANUU Students (Boys/Girls) and Staff (Men/Women). Fun game-Lemon Race for Staff Kids was also organized at Dhyan Chand Ground, University campus.
Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor distributed medals among the winners & runnerups. Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem, Chairman (Games & Sports Committee), Dr. Mohammed Yousuf Khan, Principal, Polytechnic Hyderabad, Dr. A Kaleemullah, Deputy Director, DPE&S, Assistant Directors, Assistant Professor in Physical Education, Coaches, Teaching & Non-Teaching staff, Students were present.
