Kachiguda Police rescued a 24-year-old youth attempting suicide on railway tracks at Kachiguda Railway Station in Hyderabad. The youth was handed over to GRP for counseling and safe custody.

Hyderabad: In a swift rescue operation, Kachiguda Railway Station police successfully rescued a 24-year-old youth who allegedly attempted to commit suicide on railway tracks at Platform No. 05 of Kachiguda Railway Station. The incident took place on the intervening night of 25/26.05.2026, and the rescued youth was later handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) for further action, counseling, and safe custody.

Distress Call Received From Youth’s Father

According to the press note issued on 26.05.2026, at approximately 22:30 hours, Section In-charge HC 4121 Sri D. Yugandhar received a distress phone call from Sri V. Nagaraju, a resident of Tadipatri, Ananthapuram District, Andhra Pradesh.

The caller informed police that his son, Niranjan (Age: 24 years), who was working as a Supervisor at Jayraj Steels, Kurnool, was suffering from severe mental depression.

Police said Niranjan had sent his father a video recording clip stating that he was standing on the railway tracks at Kachiguda Railway Station to commit suicide. The father urgently requested police to rescue his son.

Blue Colt Team Conducts Swift Search at Kachiguda Railway Station

Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, police acted immediately under the guidance of Sri S. Rajashekhar, SHO Kachiguda Police Station.

The Section In-charge dispatched Blue Colt-I (BC-I) staff, comprising:

  • PC 4948 Sri V. Chandra Peddiraju
  • PC 5658 Sri S. Bala Mallesh

The police personnel rushed to Kachiguda Railway Station and conducted a frantic and swift search of the station premises.

Youth Rescued From Platform No. 05 Railway Track

The timely efforts of the police team resulted in the successful location of Niranjan on the railway track at Platform No. 05.

Police said the alert Blue Colt staff immediately informed the Government Railway Police (GRP) and safely pulled the youth away from the railway tracks, thereby preventing a major tragedy.

Youth Handed Over to GRP for Counseling and Safe Custody

The rescued individual was safely handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) for further necessary action, formal counseling, and safe custody.

Police stated that the situation at the location remained safe and peaceful after the rescue operation.

The prompt and heroic response of the Blue Colt personnel was highly appreciated by the SHO.

The press note was issued by the Station House Officer, Kachiguda Police Station, Secunderabad Zone.

Kachiguda Police successfully rescued 24-year-old Niranjan from the railway tracks at Platform No. 05 of Kachiguda Railway Station after receiving a distress call from his father on the night of 25/26.05.2026. The Blue Colt-I team acted swiftly, prevented a tragedy, and later handed over the youth to the Government Railway Police for counseling and safe custody.
