Pragya Thakur who dons saffron robes issues ludicrous statement on hijab

Bhobal: BJP MP, Sadhvi Pragya who dons saffron robes, wears tilak and bead necklace, all religious symbols, on February 16 issued a beyond the pale remark by saying that those who are not safe inside their houses, need to wear hijab. She said that there is no need to wear hijab in ‘Hindu Samaj’ especially at the educational institutions where we all study.

Pragya Singh Thakur told this while addressing people at an event in Bhopal on Wednesday.

Her remarks came amid the hijab row in parts of Karnataka. Pro and against hijab protests are being held in different parts of the country.

Reacting to the controversy, Sadhvi Pragya said those who are unsafe at their homes need to wear hijab there, while outside, wherever there is ‘Hindu Samaj’, they are not required to wear Hijab, especially at places where they study.

India Today quoted her as saying: “Hijab is a purdah. Purdah should be [used] against those who see you with evil eyes. But one thing is clear that Hindus don’t see them with evil eyes as they worship women.”
