Thane: A 29-year-old man strangled his mother to death with the help of his female relative because she did not accept their relationship. The incident took place in Bhiwandi town in Maharashtra’s Thane district on Tuesday and the man initially tried to pretend that it was an accident.
Senior Police Inspector Madan Ballal from Narpoli police station said this. After investigating the case, the police arrested the man and his 30-year-old female relative on Wednesday. The accused woman was the niece of the victim’s husband. She was staying at the place of the deceased.
The victim often quarreled with her son over her relationship with a relative. On Tuesday, the two accused allegedly strangled the victim to death with the help of a belt. The victim’s son initially tried to mislead the police by calling it an accident. But after the complaint of other relatives and investigation of the case, the police arrested the man and his relative and registered a case against them. The body of the woman was sent to the government hospital for postmortem.
