Telangana Health Department Denies Dengue Fever Outbreak, Asks Public Not to Panic

Hyderabad: Telangana health officials on Thursday denied reports of an outbreak of dengue fever in the state. They said there is no need to be concerned about the number of fever cases in the state, and that no one has died from the fever so far.

The health officials held a review meeting on seasonal diseases on Thursday in light of the recent rains in Telangana. The meeting was called at the direction of State Health Minister T. Harish Rao and was attended by health secretary Syed Ali Murtuza Rizvi, as well as officials from the Health Department.

Officials were instructed to make all necessary preparations at hospitals to deal with any situation, and to immediately enter the details of those affected by fever on the portal. Based on this data, district medical and health officers have been advised to take measures by identifying high-risk areas.

Hospitals in areas where more cases of fever are being seen have been instructed to be vigilant, and to start immediate treatment if any symptoms are found in any patient.
