Ahmedabad: Telangana swimmers delivered an impressive performance at the 79th Senior National Aquatics Championships 2026, currently underway in Ahmedabad from June 16 to 21, securing podium finishes in multiple events.
In the Women’s 1500m Freestyle event, Maharashtra’s Aditi Satish Hegde clinched the gold medal with a timing of 17:20.82. Telangana’s Vritti Agarwal put up a strong challenge and secured the silver medal, clocking 17:22.17, while Karnataka’s Sri Charani Tumu finished third with a timing of 17:49.09.
Telangana added another silver medal to its tally in the Women’s 50m Breaststroke event, where Mittapalli Rithvika finished second with a timing of 33.63 seconds. Karnataka’s Lineysha A K won the gold medal in 33.51 seconds, while her state teammate S. Lakshya secured the bronze medal with a timing of 33.84 seconds.
The championship has witnessed top swimmers from across the country competing for national honours, with Telangana athletes continuing to make their mark through consistent performances.
