Hyderabad: The Hindu’s award-winning news photographer in Hyderabad, Nagara Gopal, reportedly faced an attack on Tuesday by an electronic media stringer and associates.
The altercation stemmed from a dispute over covering an event, resulting in Gopal sustaining a severe head injury with profuse bleeding.
The incident unfolded after a BJP election meet, where an argument between Goud and Gopal over photography space was initially resolved.
However, upon leaving the venue, Goud and his associates assaulted Gopal with a stick. Gopal received medical attention, including scalp suturing, and was later moved to Yashoda Hospitals for observation.
The police initially released the accused but later arrested him after public outcry. A case under IPC Section 324 has been registered, and an investigation is ongoing.
