Ugadi celebrated across Telangana
Tasteful decoration of Hindu households with flowers, mango and neem leaves besides preparation of special Ugadi delicacies were the highlight of the festival.
Hyderabad: Ugadi, the Telugu New Year Day, was celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety all over Telangana on Saturday.
People thronged temples to offer special prayers on the Ugadi day while several temples organised recitation of “panchangam” (almanac) to mark the festival.

A colourful Ugadi celebration was organised at Pragathi Bhavan, the Chief Minister’s camp office-cum-official residence which was attended by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Ministers.
Vice President M.Venkaiah Naidu attended Ugadi celebrations on the city’s outskirts.
Political parties including the Congress and BJP celebrated Ugadi at their offices in the city.
